Khyber Pass marks the third installation in TOBOGGAN's 24-part Vuvuzela symphonic series. Jokes, it's the newest EP from the MTLien, which means sunburnt samples, billowing beats and Hall & Oates fanaticism cooked to perfection. The new tracks are accompanied with a frenzy of remixes from TOBOGGAN's cohorts, $1 Bin, mike din, Al Ripken, Jr. and Ryan Hemsworth. Our 2nd release of 2012 welcomes Shots For Everyone heavyweight $1 Bin to The Villa. His 3rd release of the year, the prolific producer's Electro Haus EP is available today via bandcamp. The EP is his foray into the eponymous genre and features remixes from Byzanite, Kilbourne, D05 & Luc Prema. The album's free for the next week, after which it won't be. So get on it. - CM

Welcome to Toboggan's self-titled debut LP. The album presents itself more as a world of vivid textures and landscapes than a collection of great dance songs. Detail is vital, even in the cohesion of track titles (e.g. "City Glaciers", "Bermuda" and "Nursery Slopes"). Toboggan's sound--warm one moment, frigid the next--is dictated by the fervent samples he scrutinizes over, stretching and molding them to form the guts of the LP. This one is consistent like cruise control. You can listen/download the album for free, we don't care what's in your pockets. - RH
Pop Montreal's 10th anniversary was good to us. I've heard it referred to as the best one yet, mostly by myself. The Villa showcase happened and was a slam dunk. Only Chris R.T.'s set was recorded (which can be found here), but expect live recordings from other Villans [sic] soon. Also, new music from everyone coming over the next few weeks...

Our third release and first LP, Ryan Hemsworth's "No Plans" is out today, pay-what-you-want, via his bandcamp. It's his first full-length and couldn't be a better compendium of his undeniably versatile prowess. Our second release is also the second EP from Montreal's Toboggan. Toboggan is an electronic/hip hop/fuzzy/partytime producer whose real name is Corey Martin and happens to be a great cook. Untrue as that may be, this EP is really good and I will avoid any effort to do it justice right now. You should just listen to it and download it for free here. - CM
Our first release is a single from Halifax's Ryan Hemsworth called "Someone To Make You Crazy" and features Montreal vocalist/musician Jenn Mierau adding a sultry element that Ryan simply isn't capable of. Nor should he be. The single comes complete with remixes by New York's $1 Bin and Montreal Villan Toboggan. It can be listened to and downloaded for free here. - CM
The Villa is a label and artist collective. We will put out albums, EPs, singles and dj mixes on the regular. Our team (mike din, toboggan, ryan hemsworth, beeker, birds, chris rt & squidmilker) are a very multifaceted set of allies, all drawn together by likeminded taste as well as a similar outlook about the future of the music industry and its distribution.
